O pensamento vegetal como explosão da identidade

Há dois anos iniciei a coleta de plantas e a construção de herbários. O trabalho de organização deste material segue o processo de inventariar as diferentes partes da planta:  Raiz, folha, caule, flor, semente. A partir do cruzamento entre diversas plantas de linhagens diferentes construíram-se híbridos para serem fotografados, tendo como referência a técnica de enxertia. Foram criadas flores híbridas a partir da recombinação de partes de diferentes plantas do inventário, reconfigurando uma nova flor inexistente na natureza. Tenho estudado a vida das plantas e acompanho a revolução em que vivemos atualmente. A investigação científica demonstrou que as plantas não são “coisas”, mas entidades inteligentes que são capazes não só de ver, cheirar, sentir, ouvir; mas que também se comunicam, se movem e têm memória. Compreender seu universo diminui nossa impercepção botânica e expande nossa consciência, revelando a importância das plantas na estabilidade dos ecossistemas e na contenção do desaparecimento das espécies.

plant-thinking as identity destabilizing

The image i show is part of a series called inventory. It has been two years since i started collecting the plants and building the herbaria. The work of organizing this material follows the process of inventorying the different parts of a plant: Root, leaf, stem, flower, seed. From the crossing between many different plant lineages, hybrids were built – having as a reference the technique of grafting. Hybrid flowers were created from  the recombination of parts of different plants in inventory, reconfiguring a new flower – non-existing in nature. I have been studying the life of plants and following the revolution we are living nowadays. Scientific investigation has shown that plants are not “things”, but intelligent entities capable not only of seeing, smelling, feeling, hearing: they can also communicate, move, have memory. Understanding their universe diminish our plant blindness and expands our consciousness, revealing the importance of plants in making our ecosystems stable and preventing the extinction of species.
